Norway Turns Score to Get First Tournament Win – 02.12.2018

A traditional North-European duel, this time in Prague. The Norwegians stayed behind after the first period but came back to reach a strong 9–3 win.

The first game on Sunday was a tournament opener for both teams. The Danes uncorked the first period by scoring in the 5th minute and than tussled for the lead with the Norwegians. Both opponents scored on nifty individual or team plays to make it 3–2 for Denmark after twenty minutes.

Just as in the first, there were five goals netted in the second period but this time Norway totally dominated. They turned the score and ran up to 7–3. Especially the fifth Norwegian goal was an astounding beauty – Ole Mossin Olesen got a penalty shot opportunity and showed the whole arena how smart hands he has. The forward sent the ball into the net along the goalie after a tricky and quick move.

Denmark battled hard to come back in the third but the Norwegian defense stayed tight together with their goalie Markus Jelsnes who made a few really good saves. So it was the leading team that continued scoring. Markus Lindgjerdet completed a hat-trick and Norway added two more in total to set the final result at 9–3.
