Slovakia leveled the score four times before eventually turning it around with two and a half minutes left in the third period to win 7–5 against Estonia.
The match for the 9th place was not only a duel of two good teams, but also a duel of their loud and keen fans that kept supporting noisily. Both teams played very actively from the first seconds so the game was fast with many chances on both sides. Estonia took the lead with less than two minutes into the game. The Slovaks equalized in a power play but allowed two goals later on, so the Estonians held the 3–1 lead after twenty minutes.
The Slovaks entered the second period with more offensive efforts, pushed the Estonians deep into defense a few times and managed to come back. First, they leveled the score with two goals to make it 3–3, which really pleased their fans. And later on, despite conceding a goal halfway through the period, they tied the score again, so the teams went into their dressing rooms with 4–4 on the scoreboard.
Just as in the first two periods, the thrilling performance continued in the third part as well. Estonia went back into the lead after five minutes but the Slovaks equalized yet again – for the fourth time in the match. And finally, two and a half minutes before the end, they took the lead for the first time in the game. After scoring an empty-netter at the very end the Slovaks won this battle 7–5, thus finishing the Prague championship in the 9th place, whereas Estonia closes the top ten with the 10th position.
