SPV defeats Classic and will play in the 2013 CC final — 05.10.2013

The Finnish battle between SPV and Classic was a really tight match with chances on both sides. From the beginning the game was equal but the Finnish champion SPV created the better chances and won 4-2.

Classic had a better start to the match than their opponent. For the first minutes they created a lot, but not very dangerous chances. Seinäjoki answered with nice shots from the middle line and cross passes directly in front of the goal, but at the end of the period still no goals had been scored.

That was changeing in the second period. SPV´s number 21 Teppo Mäkelä took the second shot after a missed one and scored a backhand goal. In the middle of the match the Kotilainen brothers equalised the score with a nice move of Peter Kotilainen taking the ball behind the goal and passing to slot right on his brother´s Paul Kotilainen´s forehand to make it 1-1.

Seinäjoki turned the score again five minutes before the intermission by Mikko Kohonen to 2-1. It was Kohonen again who opened the last period with using a failed pass of Classic to score again. Nevertheless they made  again when Mikko Leikkanen shoots in powerplay from the distance to 3-2.

Classic´s last resistance was not enough and it was Janne Hulmi who scored for SPV from Kohonen´s crosspass, to give the final score of 4-2.

The player of the match, Mikko Kohonen, gave his analysis of the game:
- The opponent was good and their game plan was good. They tried to keep the ball away from us but made a couple of mistakes that we could utilise. These games are why I play floorball and when the tough gets going the going gets tough, or how do you say?

Kohonen also sent his regards to the Finnish national team head coach Petri Kettunen.
-  I’ve been so many months away from the national team, so I hope that Kettunen watched this game!
