Czech´s offense driven squad beats Norway – 03.12.2016

Czech offensive minds outscore Norwegian rookie driven team after a very defensive effort by Norway.

3rd match of the day in Arena Riga began with a lengthy offense from Czech Republic. Meanwhile Norway tried to stick to a defensive game early on. Spending time on offense allowed Czech Republic to take the lead with 7:25 played in the 1st period. Great ball movement from the corner went over Andreas Falkeid´s shoulder putting Czech up 1-0. Despite Norway getting chances on counter attacks, Czech kept dominating the entire first period and finished it up 2-0.

Second period and Czech Republic pushed to score as many as they can while the Norwegian goalie tried to keep his team in the game. The score became 3-0 almost five minutes into the second period. Czech Republic was awarded with a penalty shot that they took advantage of making it 5-0. 56 seconds left into the second period and Norway finally managed to beat the Czech goalkeeper to make it 5-1 as they headed for the locker rooms to plan for the third period.

Early into the third period, the home team managed to renew their five goal lead as they kept manufacturing quality offense. 3:21 of game time was enough for Norway to cut their opponents´ lead back to 4 goals; sparking hope that there still is a way for a come back. Unfortunately their hopes were cut short as moments later, they got one in the back of their own net. This giving the opposing team yet another 5 goal lead. Norway once again showed that they are not letting this one go and scored their 3rd and 4th goal of the game with just seconds between them but that was not enough as Czech Republic landed a 8-4 victory.
