Norway run away with a win against Germany – 13.12.2013Germany never found their fighting spirit against Norway in the final match of the day. Norway qualified to the match of the 5th place against Latvia, with a 7-1 win and Germany will play for the 7th place against Poland. The game was even in the beginning, though Norway controlled the ball and started the scoring in the first period. Germany scored once before Norway took the lead again by 2-1, which was the situation until the final period. The Germans seemed tired, whereas the Norwegians shifted into another gear, scoring five times before the final whistle. - We had a bad start in the match. The first two periods we were too slow and not focussed enough. If we compare that match to the one against Finland, we need to get back to that level again. Now we want to win against Latvia on Sunday, Victoria Hansen explained. Germany´s Laura Neumann commented: - We tried our best but we know that there are some things missing to win against a team like Norway. Today we recognized that mostly the physical differences were most important. We hope to keep on playing with the same power against Poland tomorrow morning.
