News from the IFF CB meeting 1/2014 – 10.02.2014

The IFF Central Board had its first meeting of the year in Madrid. The meeting started on Saturday with a working day and the actual meeting took place on Sunday.

On Saturday the CB was working with the Each One Teach One project, which was also a very important topic during the IFF’s Associations Meeting last December in Ostrava. The project was first introduced in 2011 in the IFF Associations Meeting in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

The purpose for the project is that existing Member Associations would offer support to the newer floorball countries by educating them in different fields like: administration, coaching and refereeing.

 U19 WFC 2015

The 2015 U19 WFC is played in Sweden. 10 teams have directly qualified based on the previous U19 WFC played in Hamburg, Germany. The qualifications will be played in September 2014 and the IFF CB decided that there will be two Final Round spots for Europe, two spots for AOFC and two spots for the Americas. A total of 16 teams will participate to the WFC Final Round 2015.

Champions Cup 2014

The IFF Champions Cup has been played in the present format since 2011 and the next CC will be played in Switzerland in October 2014. The discussions regarding the Champions Cup format from 2015 and onwards has started and the IFF member associations have the will to continue playing the CC tournament.

Code of Ethics and the conflict of interest policy

The IFF CB discussed and approved the IFF code of ethics and also the IFF conflict of interest policy.

Athletes Commission

The CB also nominated Athletes Commission representatives to the IFF Rules- and Competition Committee (RACC) and the IFF Referee Committee (RC). Emanuel Antener was nominated as the RACC representative and Brigitta Radacsi as the RC representative.

Each One Teach One

IFF CB decided the schedule for the implementation of the EOTO. As the first step the IFF will send an inquiry letter to each member association during March and the actual actions will then start in May.

The minutes of the CB Meeting will be published soon on the IFF web page under Organisation and Meetings.
