More floorball training in Asia – 27.02.2014

The IFF in conjunction with the AOFC conducted a coaching program and GK training during the recent WFCQ in Wellington New Zealand.

The coaching was run by IFF Secretary General and floorball goalie John Liljelund and involved 13 participants in the coaching course and 19 in the Goalkeeping training session.

The coaching course was run over two days and involved learning and discussing structures, roles and other aspects of the game including game preparation. The participants then observed games to focus on the items discussed in the theory sessions. Each period break the observations were discussed among the group. This unique approach allowed all participants to put the theory into practice at the same time and to improve their ability to analyse a game. The coaching was well received and appreciated by all participants.

The GK training was an impromptu one hour session attended by all the National Goalkeepers at the WFCQ except for one country. The focus was on the movement of the goalies and their basic stance and positioning in the goal. Feedback from those attending was the session was of great benefit.
