AOFC General Assembly held during the WFCQ in New Zealand – 31.01.2014

The Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation (AOFC) held its Annual General Meeting in Wellington, New Zealand on the 1st of February, in connection to the Asia-Oceania WFCQ, setting the plans for the activity for the coming years.

In the past year, the Indian Floorball Federation and the Malaysian Floorball Association have re-arranged their structure and have both been re-approved as provisional members by IFF. Based on this the AGM also approved them as members of the AOFC.

The main achievement for Floorball in the region has been the appearance of Floorball as a demonstration sport in the South-East Asian Games in Myanmar in December 2013 and the upcoming World University Championships in Singapore in June 2014, which is expected to have over 20 participating teams.

The AOFC President Mr. Stephen King was re-elected for the next two year period and the following CB was elected:

-The AOFC now has the opportunity to build on the participation in the multi-sport games following the SEA Games in Myanmar. We are looking forward to the World University Games in Singapore in June 2015 as well as full participation in the SEA Games 2015, also in Singapore. As a confederation we are focusing on closing the gap with the rest of the world through coaching and development seminars and at the same time increasing the number of member countries

The AOFC President Mr. King thanked Mr. Sani Mohd. Salim and Mr. Pierre Boudville for their valuable contribution of the development of Floorball within the AOFC during a number of years.
