Floorball amongst the six possible SEA Games 2015 sports – 10.01.2014

Malaysian Today online magazine, m.todayonline.com, reports that floorball is amongst the six candidates to be considered as being accepted as official sports for the 2015 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore.

In a council meeting in December in Naypyitaw, the SEA Games Federation confirmed the 30-sport list for the 2015 SEA Games, which will see sports like aquatics, athletics, football, badminton and table tennis featured at the regional Games.

Six more sports could be considered for inclusion in the Games, with floorball, petanque, weightlifting, wrestling, rowing, and boxing heading the list of candidates.

The SEA Games Federation decided to exclude wrestling, weightlifting and boxing from its initial list of 30 sports for the 2015 SEA Games and these sports will now compete against floorball for being included in the Games.

The final list of sports and events is expected to be confirmed by April 2014.
