Poland Defeats Japan after Dominant Performance – 06.12.2018

Six different players scored for Poland in their 6–2 victory over Japan. The Poles are going to play Thailand for the 13th place at the tournament.

Poland dominated the game from the very start and took the lead after nine minutes. Apart from three really good scoring chances the Japanese players didn’t attack their opponents’ net much as the Poles controlled the ball most of the time. The European team went step by step up to a three-goal lead after twenty minutes.

The second period looked pretty much the same as the first one but Poland just couldn’t get the ball in. And although Japan didn’t have many shots on the goal, Ichiro Ueda scored their first one on a quick turnover. The Poles kept pushing and finally scored one as well. They took the three-goal lead back again and went up to 4–1 after two periods.

The final period didn’t bring any surprise. The Europeans controlled the match, outshot their opponent, added two more goals and won 6–2 in total. Japan scored their second goal just nine seconds before the end. The Poles are going to play Thailand for the 13th place tomorrow, whereas the Japanese are going to face Singapore in the 15th place game.
