Norway wins in OT – 10.12.2016

Norway couldn´t manage to hold the lead but still took the game in OT. 5-6, (1-3, 1-0, 3-3)

Start of the 1st period it looked all Norway, despite the fact that the Germans were out on the field as well. Both teams played a very careful game but Mark Dietz had a lot more to do in his cage. Unfortunately for Norway, they couldn´t connect which allowed the Germans to break the game and score first. The Germans got a five minute penalty, which resulted in three in a row for Norway. The Scandinavian team earned their own five minute penalty to round out the first period.

2nd period began with Norway killing their penalty and that was a success.  Quick transitional game that was mostly run by the Norwegian team. Germany attempted to fight back and got a goal in to come closer to a tie.  Norway got a power play again, this time just two minutes long but it wasn´t enough for them to put one in.

The Germans came out ready for the 3rd period, getting within one goal and picking up the game pace. Unfortunately for them, Norway got back up by two goals.  But that was for a very short period of time as Germans got two in a row to tie it up,and force an overtime. The Norwegian team had the most quality chances and they took advantage of one of them catching goalie off the position and winning it on OT.
