Greåker wins the Men´s EFC 2015 – 10.10.2015

In 2013, Lekrings won the EFC against Norway´s Slevik and played in the 2014 Champions Cup. They tried to make it to the Champions Cup 2016, but this time it was Norway´s turn as Greåker IBK took a 6-4 victory in a very exciting game.

Less than four minutes was played when the Norwegians were leading 2-0 with Sondre Haglund’s and Elias Conradzon’s goals. Lekrings really needed to find something if they would still like to be into the game. Greåker was controlling the game and didn’t give much space for Lekrings

Slowly the Latvians worked their way into the game, Pauls Erenbots shot from distance and found the net, sending the home audience to what seemed like the top of their voices. However, they found a little extra noise when Davis Vilders scored the second for Lekrings when tey were playing shorthanded.

The second period looked like both teams were just waiting for the last period to start and especially the last ten minutes of the game when decisive goals are scored. Greåker acted sooner and at 46:15 Jonas Klefbeck scored the third for Greåker and 11 seconds later Andreas Lindqvist scored 4-2 goal for the Norwegians. These two quick-fire goals seemed a cruel blow for Lekrings.

After that Greåker´s main goal was just to keep these numbers and not to do anything foolish in order to keep the lead, but Lekrings also had their power minute and they scored two goals in less than a minute and the game was a tie again. Martin Isnes Kvisik from Greåker crushed the Latvian dream at 58:16 by scoring the winning goal. Lindqvist scored again for 6-4 and the final result of the game. The win means Greåker IBK qualify for the IFF Champions Cup 2016, to be held in October next year in Borås, Sweden.
