International Goalie Camp by BLINDSAVE – 01.03.2017

This will be the fifth time when floorball goalie brand BLINDSAVE is organising one of the world’s biggest international goalie camp. Last camp was participated by 92 goalies from 16 countries. During the camps goalies have special trainings together with such professionals as a former SSL and Swedish national team goalie Patrik Åman and the legendary Finnish goalkeeper Henri Toivoniemi. The 5th BLINDSAVE camp will be held in Latvia from June 28 until July 2.

For the first time, this year’s camp will be divided into two groups to ensure increased individual attention to each goalie. From June 28 until June 30 the coaches will work with young goalies until the age of 16 but from June 30 – with older goalies. Similar to last year, the BLINDSAVE coach team will consist of the widely recognized goalie experts Pontus Boman (SWE) from “Malvaktfokus” and Aake Kettunen (FIN) from “Goalie Base”.  Also goalie coaches from ice-hockey will be involved.

- This will be the 5th anniversary of BLINDSAVE goalie camps. It’s going to be very special for everybody. Goalies from 11 different countries – such as Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Spain, Poland and even New Zealand – have already applied for the camp. It’s unbelievable and at the same time it is a real honour to see that there are goalies ready to travel more than 17 000 km to take part in BLINDSAVE Goalie Camp and learn goalkeeping, says BLINDSAVE goalie camp organizer and SSL goalie Andis Blinds (LAT).

During the camp, goalies will have practices that include goalie movement and positioning, video analysis, reading of the game, special physical training, and other specific features. There are no age, gender or skill level restrictions to participate in this camp.

BLINDSAVE goalie camp 2016 was attended by 92 goalies – 67 men and 25 women – from all around the world. The youngest participant was 9 years old but the oldest – 52.
