Women´s U19 WFC 2018 receives 17 registrations – 10.03.2017

A total of 17 teams have registered for the 8th Women´s U19 World Floorball Championships, to be held in May 2018 in Switzerland. This is the most ever registrations for the Women´s U19 WFC and will be the first time that a qualification has been held for this event. 

Australia, Italy, The Netherlands & New Zealand will all be competing for the first time in the Women´s U19s.

The Final Round will be played in St. Gallen and Herisau, Switzerland in early May. It is made of up 8 teams in A-division & 8 teams in B-division. All A-division teams, as well as six B-division teams have direclty qualified, based on results from the Women´s U19 WFC 2013 and regional quotas. The remaining 2 spots in the B-division will be determined via a qualification event in Europe, between Austria, The Netherlands & Italy.

* Numbers in brackets show current rankings based on results from U19 WFC 2016. Teams marked with (-) are competing in their first Women´s U19 WFC event and will receive a ranking at the completion of the tournament.


Qualification

The European qualification event will preliminary be held in Austria 8-10 September 2017. More details on this event will be announced at a later date.

U19 WFC Final Round Playing system

A-Division: Every team plays each other once within their group. The top two teams after the group stage proceed to the semi-finals, while the other four teams have placement matches. The 8th placed team in A-division will be relegated to B-division for 2020.

B-Division: Every team plays each other once within their group. The top two teams after the group stage proceed to the semi-finals, while the other four teams have placement matches. The winner of B-division will be promoted to A-division for 2020.
