22.6-22.7.2010 - CUF Leganes won the Spanish U16 championships

Last weekend the town of Pola de Lena (Asturias) has held the final of the Spanish U16 national Championship. Three teams were playing in the final tournament: the two first classified from Madrid League: CUF Leganés and CUF Escorial and UH Gijon from Asturias as Club organizer. On Saturday morning UH Gijon and CUF Leganés played the first match with a final score of 0 - 7. In the evening UH Gijon played again against CUF Escorial; 1 -11 was the score in this second match. After this first day, Sundaýs morning match against CUF Leganés and CUF Escorial seemed to be the expected final against this season´s best U16 teams. Both squads play good floorball, and it was difficult to predict the winner.

After two periods the score was a draw with several chances for both teams but no goals. In a thrilling third period, it was after near the half when CUF Leganes scored and got the first goal; CUF Escorial tried to go for the match but the final score was 2 - 0 for CUF Leganes and they are his year´s U16 Spanish Champions.
