WFCQ 2016 AMER Team presentations – 11.02.2016

USA, Canada and Jamaica are playing for the tickets to Latvia in the WFCQ Americas. Two best teams will qualify.

USA is the favourite of the group with their ranking being 10. Despite of being three ranking behind, Canada has been able to challenge the USA in the past. Jamaica participated in the WFCQ for the first time in 2014 and currently have a ranking 32.

WFCQ Americas will be played in Colorado Springs, USA 12-14.2.2016

Team Presentations:

USA
USA has a skilled team with a big heart. They’re going for the win in every game as their main goal is to qualify for the WFC.
Players to watch:
Maurin Rüegg: A defenseman that can be found all over the court and always comes out of scuffles with the ball
Adrian Hiram: The future of the Men´s national team. This young defenseman is still eligible for the U19 and will be someone to watch for a long time.
Matt Nunez: A real powerhouse out of Texas with a winner instinct.

Canada
Canada has a powerful and passionate team. Their first priority is to qualify for the final round, but they are also focusing on getting the group together and leaving Colorado with a good feeling.
Players to watch:
Matt Smith: Good, versatile player with great game sense.
Felix Robillard: One of the most talented players in Canada, who knows how to score.
Bill Petrie: Technical player who has a good shot and likes to use it.

Jamaica
Jamaica’s team consists of the most skillful players in Jamaica. Their aim is to win at least one game.

Qualification system

In 2016, there will be six regional qualification events to determine the participants of the 11th Men´s WFC 2016, and all registered teams, apart from the organiser, must participate in the qualifications. In each qualification group the teams play each other once.

In Americas there is one qualification group and teams will qualify for the Men´s WFC 2016 according to the following:

i) The two best teams from the group will qualify.
