During the third day in the tournament, two tough and extremely intense matches were played between Netherlands-Austria (6-3) and Finland-Denmark (9-2).
Netherlands - Austria 6-3 The first game of the day was very close and both teams performed great. Netherlands started the game successfully and took the lead early on. In the middle of the second period Austria started to score and moved ahead with the score being 2-3 in the end of the period. The third period was extremely thrilling for the audience. Netherlands evened the score at 50:34 and took a time out. After that, both teams performed well in the opponent’s end, but Austria alone managed to score twice. Netherlands took the goalkeeper out hoping to improve their chances in the end of the game, but Austria seized the opportunity and scored their sixth goal. Game ended with score 6-3. Finland – Denmark 9-2 Finland and Denmark played an extremely intense and physical game. Even though Finland is ranked second best in the world, Denmark did not give up and put up an excellent fight till the end of the match. Denmark performed excellently as a team, and the goalkeeper saved lots of the possible goals. Finland played a strong game and secured their two points.
