WFCQ 2016 EUR1: Day 2 – 04.02.2016

Sweden, Belgium and Slovakia were victorious during the second day of the World Floorball Championships Europe 1 Qualifications in Nitra, Slovakia.  

Russia played a strong opening period against Sweden, only 2-1 for Sweden after 20 minutes. But the reigning champions settled the match in the second period by scoring seven goals, Russia scoring only one. Sweden´s Albin Sjogren  scored four goals when the final score was 15-4 to Sweden.

The tightest match of the day was played between Belgium and France. Team Belgium was more effective when they got to the scoring chances and even though the game was even 2-1, 3-2, 4-3, France could never catch the Belgian team. Within the last minutes Belgium played without goalkeeper but that did not pay off and France scored two empty net goals, 7-3 to Belgium was the final score. Luca Boutmans  3+1 was Belgium´s most effective player.

In the last match Slovakia could collect two points by winning the WFC newcomer Iceland. Slovakia played good quality floorball and Iceland was not able to challenge the home team. Iceland had however some scoring opportunities but those were denied by  Dominik Turek , who played a very good match in the Slovak goal. 11-0 was the final score.
