Rules of the Game Edition 2018 – 08.01.2016

The work with the Edition 2018 of the IFF Rules of the Game has started and a working group shall be formed to take on the task.

All IFF member Associations and all persons in any IFF body have been invited to send in proposals on changes of the valid IFF Rules of the Game (Edition 2014).

The proposals, presented in priority order, shall be the IFF competition office by hand - both as a signed pdf and a word document attached to an e-mail to kratz(at)floorball.org - not later than February 29, 2016.

The rules group will thereafter meet and prepare a list of rules for testing and ask for test Associations (dead-line to apply as test Association is 15.04.2016).

In the previous round of changing the rules the following changes were made to the 2014 Rules:
- allowing the foot pass
- player´s repeated offences became history

1. The normal process for changing the rules of the games
The new rulebook should be changed in a 4 years rotation. The following milestones have to be set within this period:

January 2016
Request shall be sent to all member Associations and all persons in the IFF bodies urging them to send in proposals, with a priority list.

29 February 2016
Deadline for sending in proposals.

March 2016
Rules group meeting
Preparing a list of rules for testing and asking for test Associations
Asking for feedback from IFF RC and RACC

15 April 2016
Dead-line to apply as test Association

April/May 2016
CB-decision of test Associations

15 February 2017
Collection of experiences

March 2017
Rules group meeting
Proposals to the IFF CB

IFF CB makes final decision

New IFF Rules of the Game is sent to all member Associations

RACC organises a seminar for Interpretations of the Rules of the Game.
All member Associations will be invited to participate on their own cost.

The new edition of the IFF Rules of the Game becomes valid

January 2020
Request shall be sent to all member Associations and all persons in the IFF bodies urging them to send in proposals, with a priority list.

2. The handling of important exceptions
The IFF shall always have the possibility to make necessary changes of interpretations.
Proposals shall come from RACC.

The IFF shall be the only official organisation who decides about the Rules and Interpretation´s of the Game. This will preserve the consistency and continuity in the World of Floorball.

The IFF RACC must have the competencies and acting as an international information centre for Rules and Interpretations.

Testing new rules is possible if CB gives an Association or an organiser of a tournament the permission.

There can be exceptions from the rules in certain Associations concerning Game time, except from in the highest divisions.
