Tatran´s Milan Fridrich comments on the Champions Cup model — 12.09.2012

Milan Fridrich is in favour of the new Champions Cup tournament model and tells how the team gains important experience during a tournament like the CC.

You have beaten Wiler-Ersigen and Storvreta last year. Is it right to call Tatran a favourite for gold in the CC?

- We would like to assign to the candidates who could win the tournament. Last year, we convinced ourselves that we can beat the best teams and I hope we will continue with our last year´s achievements.

One of your leading players, Milan Garcar, left to Sweden. Have you find good replacers for the CC and this season?

- Substitutes for the once that left we have found from our own resources. It will be an opportunity for players who came to Tatran Stresovice last year or for players from our junior team. We believe that experience gained during the CC will be important for these players especially in the play-off stage in our league.

How do you see the CC Tournament. Is it a good change compared to the previous EFC model?

- This model looks more attractive. Each match is important and you can see only top teams in action, which is also more tempting for the spectators. I hope that this tournament will gain more and more prestige, just as in the UEFA Champions League in football.
