Sarah Mitchell started as the new IFF Competition Coordinator – 25.10.2011

Sarah Mitchell (41) has now started as the new IFF Competition Coordinator in the IFF head office in Helsinki.

Sarah is an Australian who has been living in Finland for seven years. She has been involved with floorball for over 13 years, as a player, coach and administrator.

From 1999-2009 Sarah was a member of the Australian women’s floorball team, played at 6 World Championships, and was a captain of the team for 7 years. In 2004 she moved to Finland specifically to play floorball and to learn more about the game, with the aim of coaching in the future, which she has done.

- Being involved in a small and growing federation in Australia as well as my involvement in one of the largest and best developed federations in Finland, I have experienced both ends of the floorball world.

Prior to coming to Finland, Sarah was employed by Luxe Worldwide Hotels (Boutique Hotels), an international hotel sales and marketing company where she held the position of Administration and Reservations Manager (Australia & New Zealand).

In Finland Sarah has worked for Itella Oy´s Postal logistics operations and studied Social Policy in the University of Helsinki.

- My first task as the IFF Competition Coordinator is now to get familiar with the IFF as an organisation and my job in particular, as a part of the preparations for the upcoming Women´s WFC 2011 in St. Gallen 2011.

Sarah will prepare for the WFC 2011 together with Kaarina Salomaa until November 25th of November when Kaarina will start her new job.

- It is very exciting to welcome Sarah into the IFF team, since we have had a lot of good experiences before with working with persons from all around the IFF family and we believe that Sarah will bring  new ideas to the IFF Office, says IFF secretary general, John Liljelund.
