Historic gold for Pixbo – 02.10.2016

Swedish Pixbo Wallenstam took a historic first gold in Champions Cup by beating Classic in the final. The final score was 6-2.
- We knew that if we just do our job we are going to win in the end, says Lisa Andebratt.

After a goalless first period, it didn´t take long for Finnish Classic to score. Gitta Suominen found Mari Alila in the middle and she shot a distinct goal to 1-0. By then, not one minute had passed.

But Pixbo´s equalizer was soon to be a reality. The hard shooting Isabell Krantz used her power and shot 1-1 from a long distance.

- We knew that if we just do our job we are going to win in the end. We felt we were the best team and had the most of the ball. We won our fights out there, says Lisa Andebratt.

Early in the last period Pixbo was given a penalty, and Stephanie Boberg outsmarted the goalkeeper Laura Loisa and did 2-1.

Classic tried to create chances, but Pixbo´s defense was solid. Six minutes before the end, Alicia Fylke stole the ball from a Classic player and assisted Lisa Andebratt who shot 3-1.

- I was so happy. I think you could se that, me jumping around. It was nice to score in that important moment, says Andebratt.

When Classic played with six players and without a goalkeeper, Alicia Fylke scored 4-1 aswell, and after that Cecilia Habib Westh did 5-1.

The final ended 6-2. This was Pixbo´s first gold in Champions Cup. They also won the Swedish Championship in april.

- It was very nice to win again, says Andebratt.
