1. SC WOOW Vítkovice wins the double in Czech Republic — 14.04.2014

The season 2013/14 became a super season for 1. SC WOOW Vítkovice as the team won both the men´s and women´s Superfinal in Czech Republic. Vitkovice also won two tickets to the Champions Cup 2014.

In the women´s final Vitkovice met Herbadent SJM Praha, the club team that has won the last gold medals in the women´s league.

The women´s Superfinal was quite tight for two periods, but Vitkovice was still leading 2-0 with Michaela Šponiarová´s and Andrea Pastušková´s goals. Vitkovice decided the match in the third period and in the end they did not let in a single goal and took a convincing 5-0 victory. Hana Sládečková was the top scorer of the final with 1+1.

The men´s Superfinal was a tight match between Vitkovice and Tatran played in the O2 Arena in front of 9659 spectators.

No goals were seen in the first period but Vitkovice won both the second and third period with one goal and with a final score of 3-1. Lukáš Hájek (2+0) and Jakub Hubálek (0 + 2) were the top scorers.

Vitkovice was placed third after the regular season in the women´s league and only fourth in the men´s league, so two god medals for Vitkovice can be considered a surprise.
